Map Drawing for Area-Based Services
If you sell anything priced per square foot—lawn care, roofing, concrete, painting, power washing—Pro adds Google Maps polygon drawing to the customer-facing form.
How it works:
- Customer enters their address on the form.
- A satellite map appears with their property loaded.
- They draw a polygon around the area (the lawn they want mowed, the driveway they want power-washed, the roof footprint).
- ApproxIt calculates the square footage and auto-fills the per-unit quantity for relevant services.
- The estimate updates live.
This is enormous for accuracy. Customers consistently under-estimate area when they type a number; the map gives you a real measurement before you quote.
Setup: Pro uses Google Maps APIs (bring-your-own key). Google’s free tier covers about 28,000 map loads per month—more than enough for nearly any small business.
AI Photo Analysis
When customers attach photos to a submission (e.g., “here’s a picture of the area”), Pro can analyze them automatically using Google Gemini.
For each photo, the system generates:
- A short description of what is in the image.
- Red flags or concerns (“visible rot on the soffit”, “uneven settling on the driveway slab”).
- A confidence score.
- A thumbnail you can click to view the full photo.
Useful for: pre-quote triage (know what you are walking into before you visit), insurance/inspection workflows, and surfacing high-risk jobs that need a senior estimator.
Setup: Uses Google Gemini API (bring-your-own key). Cost is typically a fraction of a cent per analyzed photo.
Property Intelligence
Pro can pull contextual data about the customer’s property directly into the lead card. Given the address, Gemini researches and surfaces:
- Approximate home age, square footage, lot size.
- Neighborhood property values.
- Nearby permit history if available.
- Any notable property characteristics (corner lot, recent renovation, etc.).
The result is rendered as a markdown summary in the lead detail card, so you have context before your first call.
Smarter Lead Scoring
Lite scores leads purely on the deterministic signals: total value, contact completeness, scope. Pro adds semantic priority scoring that reads the customer’s notes through Gemini and detects urgency.
Examples:
- “ASAP, water is dripping from the ceiling” → high priority → +20 pts → likely bumps to Hot.
- “Just looking for ballpark numbers, no rush” → low priority → +0 pts.
- “Considering options for next year” → low priority → +0 pts.
Combined with the deterministic logic, this catches genuinely urgent leads that Lite would have scored as cold (small total but real emergency) and downgrades tire-kickers that Lite would have scored as hot (big total but no real intent).
SMS Owner Alerts
Pro sends you a text message every time a new lead comes in, in addition to the email. Includes the customer’s name, score, and total.
Configurable: send for all leads, hot leads only, or off.
Setup: Uses Twilio (bring-your-own credentials). Cost is roughly $0.01 per SMS in the US.
Follow-Up Nudge SMS
For leads where the customer left a phone number but the status is still “new” 30 minutes later, Pro can auto-send a short follow-up text from your Twilio number: “Hi {first name}, this is {business} — we got your request and someone will be in touch shortly. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Most service businesses see lead-to-quote times shrink by 50%+ when this is on. Customers feel heard immediately even if you cannot pick up the phone the second the lead comes in.
Signed Email Delivery via SendGrid
The biggest source of lost leads in service businesses is unreliable email. Pro includes a built-in SendGrid integration that signs your outgoing transactional mail with SPF and DKIM, bypassing the wp_mail() deliverability issues that plague WordPress shared hosting and WP Engine setups.
Setup: Sign up at SendGrid (free tier = 100 emails/day forever), verify your sending domain, and paste the API key into ApproxIt’s settings. No additional plugin required.
If you are on Lite, you can get equivalent results by installing a third-party SMTP plugin and pointing it at SendGrid. The Pro integration just saves you that extra step and gives you a single place to manage everything.
Abandoned-Estimator Detection
Pro tracks when a customer starts building an estimate but leaves without submitting. After a configurable delay (default 30 seconds after last interaction with no submission), Pro fires an “abandoned estimator” alert to your owner email with whatever they built up to that point.
These leads often represent customers who got distracted, hit a confusing field, or were comparing your service to a competitor’s. Following up turns 10–20% of them into real leads.
