FAQs

Got questions? We have answers.

Everything you need to know about ApproxIt Pro, from setting up your first estimate to managing your subscription. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, our support team is just a click away.

It puts a smart “Get an Estimate” form on your website. Customers pick the services they need, see a real-time price update as they choose, and submit their contact info when they’re ready. You get an alert email with the lead, a score (hot/warm/cold), and the full breakdown of what they’re looking for — so you know exactly what to quote before you even call back.

Service businesses where every job is a little different — HVAC techs, pool servicers, lawn-care crews, painters, cleaners, window washers, contractors, plumbers, roofers, anyone who quotes work by the visit, hour, or project.

If you currently spend the first 10 minutes of every customer call asking “okay, so what exactly do you need?” — that’s the problem ApproxIt solves. Customers answer those questions on your website before they ever reach you.

No. A contact form gives you a name, email, and a paragraph of free-text. ApproxIt gives you a structured estimate the customer built themselves — specific services, quantities, add-ons, optional photos and location data — *plus* a hot/warm/cold score so you know which leads to call first.

The difference shows up in your conversion rate. A contact form converts maybe 1-2% of visitors. A focused estimator converts 8-15%, because customers get immediate value (a price ballpark) instead of “we’ll be in touch.”

Yes. ApproxIt is a WordPress plugin. It runs on your own WordPress install — no separate account, no SaaS dashboard, no monthly login somewhere else. If you don’t have a WordPress site yet, getting one set up takes about an hour and costs $10-25/month at hosts like Bluehost, SiteGround, or WP Engine.

We chose WordPress because 43% of all websites already run on it. If you’re a small service business in 2026 and you don’t have a site yet, WordPress is almost certainly where you’d build one anyway.

Three differences:

  • ApproxIt’s data model (services, add-ons, packages, per-unit pricing, billing periods) maps directly to how trades quote work. Generic form builders make you reinvent that wheel for every estimator.
  • Every submission goes into a dedicated dashboard with scoring, status pipeline, and notes — not a generic “form entries” screen. You work leads from inside ApproxIt, not Notion or a spreadsheet.
  • Load HVAC, pool service, painting, etc. and you get a real catalog of services with sensible pricing structures. Generic form builders give you a blank canvas. Most people don’t want a blank canvas.

Lite is free, forever. Download it from WordPress.org. No credit card. No usage limits. Run it on as many sites as you want.
